     Expand Me WinSystems' CompactFlash Overview

WinSystems' CompactFlash (CF) memory cards incorporate on-board error detection and correction algorithms which are coupled with dynamic wear leveling techniques to deliver more than two million program/erase cycles for most applications.

WinSystems' CF's storage capacity is from 128 Megabytes to 8 Gigabytes.

Expand Me What makes CompactFlash Industrial-grade?
WinSystems' industrial-grade CompactFlash Memory Cards are constructed with Samsung's NAND-type single-level cell (SLC) Flash memory devices paired to a powerful 32-bit RISC/DSP-based system controller for virtual-to-physical address mapping and other Flash management functions.

These memory cards employ a variety of sophisticated error checking and Flash management utilities allowing for levels of reliability and endurance in excess of the physical NAND Flash. Patented static and dynamic wear leveling methods ensure even wear of Flash blocks across the entire card capacity. Wear leveling ensures even wear of Flash blocks across the entire card capacity. Background operations track erase counts, prioritize new writes to blocks with lower wear, and relocate static data to blocks with higher wear. Bad-block Management routines replace worn blocks with spare blocks reserved by the controller on card initialization. Reed-Solomon based ECC algorithms capable of detecting and correcting up to 6 bytes per 512 bytes sector are implemented on the fly without performance degradation to ensure data reliability through user data transfers and background wear-leveling operations. This allows the CF cards to have greater than 2 million program/erase cycles and unlimited Reads while maintaining fast transfer speeds of up to 16.6 megabytes/sec in burst mode.

WinSystems' CompactFlash cards are rugged. They can withstand up to 2000 G's shock and 16.3 G's (rms) of vibration. They will work up to an altitude of 80,000 feet and an operational temperature range of -40°C to +85° C.

Expand Me Will WinSystems' CF cards work with Windows® XP?
Since they are True IDE Mode and ATA-3 compliant, they are compatible with different operating systems such as Linux and Windows® XP Embedded without requiring any special drivers. We support both DMA mode 0-2 and PIO mode 0-4 operation.

The controller supports the Enhanced Write Filter (EWF) mode for Windows® XPe.

Expand Me Are WinSystems' CompactFlash cards RoHS compliant?
WinSystems' Compact Flash cards meet the European Union issued Directive 2002/95/EC regarding the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (RoHS).
